What Ken treats

Cockroaches & Bed Bugs

Defend Pest Control handles cockroach and bed bug work for homes and rental properties across Weber County, Davis County, Salt Lake County and the surrounding area, with straight pricing and follow-up until it is finished.

What this covers

The infestations that take more than one visit, in single homes and across rental portfolios.

How Ken handles it

  1. He inspects and tells you what it actually is

Bed bugs get confused with carpet beetles and young cockroaches, and the treatments have nothing in common. Getting the identification right comes first.

  2. He prices it before starting

You get the number and the plan up front. These jobs depend on what is actually going on, which is why Ken looks before quoting rather than guessing from a form.

  3. He treats on a schedule that catches the hatch

An established population needs several visits spaced to catch newly hatched insects. Anyone promising a one visit fix is guessing.

  4. He gives you the sanitation steps that matter

Some of what keeps roaches coming back is fixable without treatment. Ken tells you which parts are worth your effort and which are not.

  5. He works direct with property managers

Across several units you deal with Ken, not a dispatcher. He schedules around tenants and reports back on what he found in each one.

One honest exception. Bed bugs travel in on luggage and secondhand furniture. It is no reflection on your housekeeping, and Ken will not treat it as one.

Common questions

What people ask before they book

Is treatment safe for kids and pets?
Ken follows the product label exactly, and the label is what makes an application safe. He will not tell you a product is harmless, because that is not true of anything. What he will tell you is which areas to stay off and for how long, usually until the treatment dries. Most of the work happens outside on an exterior barrier, which keeps treatment away from the spaces your family actually uses.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. There is no contract, no term to commit to and no cancellation fee. If you want to stop, you tell Ken and it stops. He would rather keep customers because the work holds up than because leaving is expensive.
How fast can you come out?
Usually within 24 hours. Ken runs Weber County and Brigham City on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and Davis County and Salt Lake County on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so you get scheduled into a day he is already in your area. Stinging insects jump ahead of routine service, because a wasp nest over the door you use every day is not something that waits until next week.
What happens if I'm not home?
Ken treats the outside, leaves a record of exactly what he did, and moves on. If you needed interior work, or there is something you want him to look at, he comes back at no extra charge. Your scheduled day is the day he is already in your neighborhood, so being out that afternoon does not cost you the service.
